Dissonance

Call for Papers

DISSONANCE publishes research papers relating to all fields of contemporary music production, including artistic research, interpretation research, performance in theory and practice, topics in aesthetics and philosophy of art, or questions about music diffusion and pedagogy. The journal is oriented towards interdisciplinarity and also publishes research that is situated at the intersection between music and other fields: psychology, medicine, physics, sociology, computer sciences, history, etc.
 

Languages: Publication languages include English, French, German and Italian.
 

Target group: DISSONANCE is directed towards a wide-ranging readership, from the music scholar to the musician, including the lay public interested in music. DISSONANCE encourages the authors to shape their work in order to make it accessible to readers coming from very different professional backgrounds.
 

Text submission:

  • Text length: 15’000 to 30’000 characters (incl. spaces)
  • Will be accepted only the works that have not yet been published and which have not been accepted for publication in another context (oral presentations do not count as publication)
  • All submitted research works will be peer reviewed
